power steering for bundera

dude, you do this on every thread. LEAVE IT for 24 hours before you bump it, a lot of us inly read the forum once every 24 - 48 hours so have some patience, the answers will come. 3 hours is not long enough for everyone who has something to say about your question to have had a look at it. 3 days will not be long enough in a lot of cases.jigga wrote:someone must be able to help....
in answer to your question, the 60 series power steer box is identical to the bundera power steer box, with a different pitman arm, you can use the pitman arm off your manual steer box, or you can use the 60 series one, they aren't different enough to make it worth changing, but the bundera one is stronger.
For your 22R you can get the power steer pump, bracket and crankshaft pulley off a celica, corona, hilux (need engine mount) or later model bundera, with a 21R or 22R motor. you can use the power steering cooler off any 7x series cruiser. the plumbing you can mix and match from any of the above, you shouldn't need anything custom made. of course if you're using the power steer pump on your V8 then don't bother with this bit.
DO NOT use the steering box off a 70/73/75 series (leaf spring front), they look the same but turn the other way and unless you know, you'll get the whole conversion done and try to drive away, turn the steering wheel left, and the vehcile will turn right.
In my experience (I have owned 2 bundys with manual steer and one with power steer), they don't need power steering, and you will end up bending draglinks off road - the draglink is in front of the axle and thin and weak and turning left puts the draglink in compression and it doesn't take much to buckle it good - voila no sterring in the bush - TOPS. so if you do convert it, laminate or otherwise upgrade your draglink. But don't waste your money, just eat your weet bix and pull hard when you need to.
enjoy
