Toyota 4runner/Supra 2.5 ltr twin cam twin turbo project

I am hoping to transplant a 2.5 ltr twin turbo into my manual 1990 4runner.
It looks like I have sourced a front cut from a Supra although the year and exact model are not confirmed yet.
I would like any advice or tips re:
Engine swap
Wiring problems
Gearbox options(will the stock box take the change?)
Cruise Control issues(I have factory fitted CC)
Exhaust Issues(will need to routed down the opposite side of the chassis?)
etc.etc.
Any advise, tips, pics or experiences from similar conversions would be greatly appreciated.
I am in Canberra Australia and any local assistance would be most welcome

Have a look at what model gearbox is written on the plate on the firewall in your engine bay. It will say axle/trans before it i think. When you post the number we can tell you if your gearbox is any good or not. I am doing a similar conversion in a Bundera.

Trans/Axle

The code on the Firewall is as follows:

Trans/Axle G52 / G145

5 Speed O/drive box
Thanks for reply

The G52 is not good with handling alot of power, personally if I were to use a 1JZ, 2JZ or 1UZ I would definetly use an R series gearbox. Im not actually sure what is required when swapping one of these boxes with respect to your transfer case, Anyone? However you will have no problem getting a bell housing to suit.

nick (bundera) has swapped the 2ltr TT soarer motor into his using the stock G52, seems to handle ok.

my mate who has the same motor/G52 combo hasn't had any dramas with his box yet and he has driven on his for ages now..

and mind you, he doesn't drive like a softy either

R series box
