who has done this and how do you do it i mean running the coolant hoses to the rear, what do you use
i see heaps of americans doing this i surpose so the rad doesnt get hit or clogged with mud
i would like to give it a go if its not to hard

I guess "technically" all you would need is some extra long piping to run to the back of your car and to make sure that you have a big ass thermo to keep the air flowing over it. Sounds like it would be pretty simple.
Bolt radiator to back of truck. Run hoses/metal piping (something damn strong and heat resistant) under/over/around car to radiator. Afix a big thermo making sure that air will be able to flow through the radiator. Have fun.
The hardest part would be getting the air flower through. You need ample room in front of and behind the radiator.

you run exhuast tube the length and best to get metal bends and hoses the are unisveral so the flex better also maybe look at getting stainless pipe for better rust protection and run an addiational elec water pump if it is a road car or driven at slow speeds or extend periods

I run a 2nd radiator on the tray. You don't need an inline pump as the factory pump will do the job for you no worries. As it is my second radiator I just run it of the heater hose inlet/outlet. Has made a big difference to the cooling. It gets plenty of flow through it. The flow will slow down a little but this is a good thing as it means that it will cool down more. It will also mean you have a greater volume of water which will also aide in keeping the engine cool. Make sure you have as much of the radiator covered by thermo fans and get a shroud made. Mine only cost $70. This will maximise the air flow through the radiator. Do this and you'll have no problems.

OK. I had a spare GU radiator. 900mm long x 550mm tall. I mounted it on the roll bar on the tray and I replaced the factory heater hose outlets with 3/4 inch outlets. They screw straight in. I then made some stepdowns for the piping. I run 3/4 inch hose from the engine to just below the tray and then normal 38mm radiator hose from there. Works an absolute treat. I had my doubts but the guy that does all my radiator work has done this on a couple of burnout competition cars as well as troopies converted into tour trucks. I'll get some pics when I get home from Melbourne this evening if I can.
