looking at buying a gu st4500 auto
how strong is the gu auto and has anyone ever had one shift kitted or modified for better performance

i hate the sluggish take off and soft gear changes
i would buy a manual but missus cant drive em

also have plans for more power later on

According to a fella who works at "Wholesale Automatics" pretty good cos they hardly ever have em in for probs. If you go here

and look for a member called Chaz he'll fill you in about shift kits etc.

Also Marks Adaptors may have some info on them.

You wont look back with the auto going up hills, everybody will tell they are dangerous when you go down the other side but if you learn to drive thru the brakes you wont go back to a manual.

BTW I got one of those 4 speed auto on my 3lt diesel GU
