'84 Sierra - Steering?

Hey all,

Just a quick question.

The '84 sierra just got a brand new paint job, all stripped down, sanded and painted - then all put back together. We didnt strip down the engine bay or anything like that - just the necessary parts to get a paint job done.

Now - for some reason - the steering on the little beast is really quite hard. My grandfathers corolla (without power steering) is lighter than the zook. Can anyone shed some light as to what the hell is going on?

The two ball joints that go into the back of the drums at the wheels were dry as, so we put a little bit of grease in there to see if that helps things along - but no luck.

What can we do to fix this???? If anything? OR is this just the way things are?

Is it only since you did the paint??? What size tyres etc. Bit more info might help. Its also hard as not everybody's version of hard is the same. I dont think that my zook is heavy to turn with aired down swampers on, but other do.

How long was the zuk stripped down for? Weeks? Months?

My suspension went a bit hard (as in harder then the standard box trailer ride quality) after my rebuild, nothing that normal driving didnt fix. Normal as driving in a quarry gets anyway.

My 38's aired down with no P/S are not that hard to turn either tho

Its just plain stock. Tyres and everything is stock.

The car was only in bits for a couple of weeks - a month at the most!

It is a lot harder than what it was before the strip. Should the steering box be packed with grease as well???
