help! Tacho wiring to electronic dizzy !!

Post by KioLux »

Iv got a 85 lux with a 4Y it came with a electronic dizzy and came with the dash with just the speedo in it, i bought a dash with a tacho (out of a 86) and pluged it in and everything works fine but the tahco, im guessing the wiring to the elec dizzy isn't correct so i need to find out how to hook it up or which wire to find in the loom and what to connect it to thanx.

hi i have same prob but diff rent motor put a 22r in it and old 3y wiring had tacho now ive checked all the wiring diagrams and tested the possible conections and none work so im thinking the guagwe or at least the weird blade type wiring going into the instrument cluster is suss.ill try an aftermarket guage. its usually a black wireoff your coil to the tacho the earth.but electronic dizzies may be diffrent.?is there a sparky doctor in the house?help.

Can you rewire it like you would a external taco/dwell meter for tuning?
Positive in that little green plug on your dizzy negative to battery
If you dont have panel damage you ain't trying hard enough

no you cant id the wires from the cluster unit its very package deal set up i wanted to wire up the dash light illuminator positive to external mount guages that any 20yr old car has) but ill have to run wires fromn the headlight relays at the wrong voltage i think may need resistorrs in the circuit.
