....air operated light rack

hi all i realize that this has been asked before but i am after pics diagrams or instuctions to make a air operated light rack or even moterised light rack for the top roll bar of my single cab as i have a alot of money`s worth of light force up their (dont wont them broken) so i would like to build what the comp trucks have and was wondering if any one can help me...

It is pretty simple. Just weld some flat bar along the length of a tube and mount the ends of the tube in some bearings that are mounted to the roll bar of your tray or the roof rack. I know this sounds obvious but if it is a roof rack then make sure that when the lights fold down they don't hit the roof. This is all you have to do to mount them. Now the next thing is to get a small air ram and hook it up to an ARB style locker switch or a 3 on off on switch would also work. Depending on the type of ram, if it is a one way ram that only operates in one direction with air then have a return spring attached to the bar to hold it in place when down or if the ram is a two way then use the on-off-on switch to activate in both directions. Just weld a tab on the bar to act as a lever for the air ram and mount the ram accordingly. I hope I made this sound as simple as it is. This is simply an on off deal. You'd have to look into it more if you wanted remote adjustment.

I'm assuming that this is for a cab chassis. If so then just mount the ram to the upright support of your main roll bar and perpendicular to the light bar. Then all you have to do is weld a small tab to the bar to act as a lever for the ram. Mount the other end of the ram on a swivel so the ram can move slightly when it moves in and out.
