Kaymar bumper on HJ75

Post by beanz2 »

Hey guys,

I'm trying to install a Kaymar rear bumper on an HJ75 troopie. The bumper is supposed to bolt outside of the frame rails and to the rear crossmember as diagrammed here: <http://home.comcast.net/~dtay/kaymar.jpg>

Probably due to manufacturing tolerances, the side mounting tabs (coloured in green) are spaced about 3mm (1/8") narrower than the frame rails (B<A). I tried a large pry bar and a Hi-Lift jack to spread the tabs to no avail. Any suggestions? Anyone with a 70/73/75 had the same problems installing the Kaymar bumper?

I wanted to take a sledge hammer to the frame rails to narrow them but the neighbour next door had already gone to bed.

Dave
