one of my friends is interested in putting a vitara carby on his 1.3....
What he wants to know is does he have to use the vitara intake manifold?( there seems to be more of the vacume crap on the vit. carby) or can he block off some of the vac. crap and use the 1.3 intake manifold?

i was also going to ask the same question
how do they go?
i read somewhere that someone thinks theyll go as good as a weber if tuned properly. is this true?
will everything connect up?

thanks

same bolt pattern but other things like hat and vac hoses need to be altered correctly.when tuned properly using a sniff tester they are great.webbers should be on italian cars or holding a door open.

so the rumors are not true. it has been said that a vitara carby will "bolt on" but nobody ever mentions about the tuning required or what to do with the vac lines.
Webers are easy to set up and tune. even an idiot could do it as there is heaps of info out there on it.

u can put a 1.6 carby on a 1.3 manafold, its best to use the 1.3 manafold and 1.3 carby as i found they both went the same,if putting the 1.3 manafold on the 1.6 head u have to grind away some of the manafold near the fuel pump

He wants to know about a 1.6 carby not a bloody webber! Aerenandmel, I've just had a vitara carby put in my 1.3 sierra, I have no idea how it goes on but it didn't require the vit intake manifold.... PM joeblow, he's the man to ask cos he did it (just don't get him started on a webber conversation!) :D

Edit: All things need tuning, even people. Webbers require the most tuning out of the lot though :P
