New Kumho's (pics & initial review)

Post by OISTA »

Got these the other day. 33.12.5R15. There a bit of a step up from the old desert duellers.

Image

These tyres are directional but unlike Claws or X terrains have a seperate set of centre tread blocks (more like 'pedes but not quite as agressive) 4 ply tread, 2x steel, 2x polyester

Image

The side walls are 2 ply polyester with small side lugs/ traction spots? ( don't know what to call 'em)

Image

These tyres are a full 12.5" wide on 15x8 pro comp rims

Image

tyres themselves didn't rub but rims rubbed on front calioers, so fitted 1/4" spacers to front hubs, now all sweet.

Had a quick play in some mud and rocky shale yesterday and these tyres stick!!! self cleaning is amazing, they just wouldn't clog. Also very quiet on the road. seem quieter than a mates MTR's were.

I'll post more of a review in a few weeks as I get used to them.

They look like a good allrounder. What tread depth do they have? What sort of coin they set you back?

BigMav,
Tread depth is around 15mm on the inner lugs.
They set me back $295/corner from Dog Tyred
