well down to business to cut along story short i blew up my 3b about a week ago number 4 piston let go and the gideon pin broke.... so have looked into a rebiulb but i wanna sell it asap and rebiuldin is not an option.... wanna save the money... so an engine swap is more suited i picked up a later model 3b motor called a 3b blue... itrs outta a dihatsu truck but other then that its pretty much the samethe only thing different is that it has a rotary fuel pump instead of a rack fuel pump and the inlet manifold and injector lines a slightly different....
because my original3b motor runs a fuel cut off system (edic motor) and the newer 3b blue motor doesnt is this gonna be a porblem to change over and whats involved? now as i said the inlet manifold is different too more like the hilux inlet manifold where as mine has a 90 degree bend on it to face it upwards that looks easy enough to change over as do the injector lines........ its the changing over of the rotary fuel pump to a rack fuel pump or inline pump there is a spacer between the rotary pump and the housing and the rotary pump bolts to it but the spacer is molded to the cover shroud where as there is no spacer between my current inline pump at all ...... i wanna keep the rotary pump for another project see..... any info wood be greatly appreciated chees........

mate do yourself a favour and just bolt it in as-is. the timing case, head block and well just about everything is different on the newer 3B's, it might be possible to strip it down and put your timing case and stuff on there so you can run the inline pump but the stress would not be worth it. the pistons, injectors and combustion chambers are all different and chances are it won't run real well if you go swapping pumps without swapping all those bits too.
shame you didn't blow it up a few weeks ago, I recently threw out a perfectly good set of 3B pistons/rods that were wasting space :(
CHEERS MATE thanks heaps fpr the heads up on that shame about the rods and pistons tho hmmm bugger
