hey there fellas, and ladies,
not much has been happening lately, not much driving anyways, but since my 21st in mid june iv been collecting bits and pieces for the 12 month trip that my girlfriend and i plan on taking in about 18 months to 2 yrs. But hey, collecting bits and buying along the way sure makes life easier, and a little less stressful on the bank account, but heres what iv collecting in the last month:

$$$ for your battery? I presume 75Ah means it's N70? Where/how do you plan to mount it?
Do you have any plans for a cargo barrier? I have mixed feelings about mine. I'm glad I've got it, but it's freakin' intrusive. Instead of one small space to pack, I've got two smaller spaces. If you do, DO NOT get the Milford two position. I'd recommend you remove your rear seats, then install a custom barrier at the forward edge of the rear floor.
Have you considered an auxiliary fuel tank and/or dual wheel carrier? Because I have, and we might be able to negotiate better prices if we buy together. Just sowing the seeds...
You WILL keep us informed. That is NOT negotiable.

dunno bout n70 scott, but yeh its a century 75AH wet cell normal deep cycle battery, cost $137, tray $17, bracket $13, cables $28, isolator $89, pretty cheap setup for dual batts. it will be mounted against the firewall near the already existing battery, mount it up and hopeuflly it fits in there, i gotta move the siren for alarm and carbon canister, but nothing too hard. the rear seats have been out of my car for aaaaaaaaaages. no cargo barrier though.

the compressor, is brand Super Force, bought locally here at Supa Cheap Auto. it cost me $129, it was on sale from $179, and i figure if its twice as quick as the bushranger pro air II iv got at the moment, and lasts the 12 months warranty then itll have payed for itself. plenty use these types of compressors here, theyre a rip off of the bushranger MAX Air. good for the money.

It's OK, for 12 months on the road I'd want a trailer too. Keep in mind that some 4wd treks aren't really suited for a trailer, which is why I've taken the masochistic approach.
Towing a trailer will chew more fuel, and mine uses up to 20l/100km at times. As such, my 120l tank is borderline for the Simpson trip I'm doing next month and I'll need to carry a jerry can for emergencies - everybody I'm travelling with uses diesel. Ultimately, I want an auxilary tank - I know where to mount it, and approximately how much fuel it will hold (~60l ), but the only commercial unit I know bolts through the floor pan. I'd rather design my own unit to bolt to the chassis (three point mount system.)
But I digress. If you have a trailer, that's where you can put your extra fuel and tyres. And mine, when we do the Anne Beadell track rather than have you cross the Nullabor the conventional way.
As I said, regular updates, or you're on the band bus.

A BearComp 900P cost in Germany 260€, that´s cä. 450 AU $
That´s very expensive

2.2 bar? Is that about 33 psi? My ARB compressor takes about half an hour to inflate four 33" tyres from 20 psi to 38 psi. For that speed, AU$450 sounds like a bargain!

well my bushranger pro air series II was taking about 4 to 4.5 mins to go from about 15psi up to 38 psi. Thats rated at 37L/min, so hopefully this new beauty will improve on that and i might even mount it in the engine bay, and up to a tank with outlets either end one day

Speaking of gizmo's and knick knacks I got a couple of those LED festoon lights from Jaycar for the interior lights.
Bloody awesome bright white light now
Only $8 ea and draw bugger all current.
You have to bend the spring loaded globe holders a bit to fit them in but it works. The standard ones are 28mm these are 33mm.

just thought id update this, been getting bits and pieces together still,
- winch hook, w.l.l of 2000kg, equals breaking strain of somewhere aorund 12000kg legally required to be atleast 6000kg
- new 2 pole power source plug for the fridge in the back once batteries are put in
- new rhino 1200 x 1010 roof tray
now alls i gotta do is put the batteries in, put the locker in, get some winch rope, and ill be sweet for aaaaaaaaaages

no, the rhino racks come with a sports bar fitting kit, and thatd be just fine should my roofracks be wide enough but yeh if you can see the four holes iv drilled, they match up with the studs that go into the roofracks on the car, and then the basket is held into place with 4 shoulder eye nuts, you know the tie down/recovery points. so yeh really the only thing that has to be done is to grind down the bolts that slide into the racks because rola and rhino are extremely similiar but not exactly the same. if they were rhino racks, wouldve had absolutely no problems at all,
i finished mucking around with it last night and it was dark, hence no photos, ill put some up soon,

I forgot last weekend and took out the metal bar hanging from the ceiling in the local shopping centre and "brushed" one of the fluro lights aswell and I'm guessing mine would sit about 2 inches lower than yours.

its not on there permanently, actually itll only go on when i want to/need to, otherwise it sits in the garage, i could afford at the time so i bought it.
as far as height blair, its about 2m tall. most of the carparks round here are 2.1m, so i rekon ill have some clearence, but definitely not when theres stuff in it,
