Yeah it is possible.
You just need a small tank and the arb pressure switch.

Does the ARB compressor have a reservoir on it?

yep but very small, you get about 2 activations of front and rear lockers before it kicks in again and then you wait wait wait.

but if its endless air then its virtually instant :D

ps: when you get the arb compressor you also get the loom and switch that matches the locker switch.

Have a cheapy compressor that seems ok and a mate with the air
locker is selling just the locker. The wiring & switch isn't a problem just thought could save on not getting another compressor until i need it.

p.s i have a few a/c compressor laying around mmmm...

Mate, I run a Big Red which feeds 36 litres of on board air. I used the pressure switch from the ARB, and plumbed it into my tank. That way I have to use a hell of a lot of air for the compressor to kick in, and I still have air if I want to re-seat a bead or run a rattle gun. In a better world, I would probably run another compressor to help fill the tanks quicker. It does have an external valve, so I fill them up at the servo before I hit the bush. Saves my compressor a bit.

If you cant be bothered fitting a seperate new tank with all the fittings etc then ARB now do a small locker only compressor. It doesnt do tyres, just the lockers and its waterproof too. Its not all that expensive iirc.

yeh the smaller compressor for lockers only is about $148, bout half the price of the "big compressor" which is still only like 28L/min anyway....not quite ideal for tyres

Might be better off getting the bigger compressor so i can use it for tyres aswell. Would like a air tank but it's on the list.
How much more for the big compressor?
Would it be ok to pump up 35'' tyres?

the original arb compressor managed to pump up my old 33s at 4 min a tyre and it only managed to do the current 35's twice b4 it died. kept fixing it but at 6 min a tyre running non stop was too much for it.

in hindsight it was engine mounted and subjected to more fatigue than most which is the possible explanation others work better.

as for the new and improved compressor....... forget it, no chance.

EMAIL I JUST RECIEVED:

Hi Brad,

Thanks for your enquiry.

Unfortunately, we no longer stock the Double Pumper air compressors as
demand was slow and we now only stock either the MEGA GRUNT GC300 /
72LPM or OX 72LPM air compressors. Both of these are rated at 150psi
MAX. and have 1/4 HP motors
and will inflate a 265/75R16 tyre from 15-30psi in around 1.5 minutes only.

Both are excellent value for money and perform well in comparison to
some of the other so called 'name' brands that sell for $349.00 or
more, and both come with handy 'sand trays' included.

We are also looking at having another, larger TWIN COMPRESSOR style
unit in the next week or so which will have a 600 watt motor and have
a MAX Output of approx. 150LPM capacity - double the current style
compressors. We are still negotiating on these units at this time but
expect to be able to supply these at around $275.00 - $285.00 each /
delivered to your door!

Regards,

i currently run and endless air compressor. pumps 35s from 18 to 40psi in 80 sec plus runs the lockers and you never have to wait for it to charge up its so quick.

i used the original arb wiring loom and pressure switch on the endless air.

ditto Guzzla - have Sanden AC pump on 2 vehicles, with w/shop compressor regulator, safety valve and water trap, Cost 25 dollars each from wreckers, and never had any probs with them, run one into the roll cage on one vehicle and into and old water type extinguisher on the other. Pumps 35s up easily.

Only trouble is when out wheeling, we have to pump up everyone elses's tyres too - even if they have ARB or other similar units!

If you can, do this and you'll never worry bout air again.
Nice gq swb ute chop with a huffer for the good times

The arb pump that i have is the original large pump with resevoir. It is not the same as the large pump that is now available. it is just the pump & reservoir alone no fittings freight would be $15.
send an e-mail and i will reply with photo,s
