custom seat rails
I don't want to be a party pooper, but seat rail modifications are pretty serious territory, and few workshops would want to touch this kind of work. the liability and safety considerations involved are a major issue.
There are even ADR's that govern variations from stock seat height, locking mechanisms etc.
I would try and mount the 300ZX seats and rails as one complete unit, and fabricate a base frame that mounts to the existing vitara floor mounts and mounts the 300zx rails where you need them. This way there are no modifications to the floor mounts or any part of the rail/seat arrangement.
another option is to unbolt the vitara seat from the rails and do the same with the 300zx seat. the seats usually bolt to the rail with 4X8mm bolts. It might be relatively easy to make an adapter plate to convert the bolt pattern of the vitara rails to the 300zx seat base.
Just some ideas.
Steve.
