I've seen them mounted in pods on front windscreen pillar in a
multi ( 4-I think ) guage pod! Looks pretty good!
Not sure who makes them!
The place I saw this one is Ontrack 4x4 Moss st, Slacks Creek. Qld
You could phone Brett and ask?

Since I put the roll cage in I can't use the drivers side air vent so my boost gauge fits nicely in the same spot. Otherwise you can mount it to the top of the dash or on the "A" pillar like the ricers do in single gauge pods. Another thought is to make an overhead console and mount the stereo and UHF in that. This leaves the whole double din area in the center to put a blank plate and you can mount anything you want there, like locker switches and winch switches and gauges and a screen for the reversing camera :D

I'm trying to do the same.

my local reckons his rice suppliers don't make a pod for the a-pillar as the patrol isn't ricer enough.

Anyone know if a pod is around for a-pillar.??

I think i'll only fit two gagues under the door handle, which I need to keep.

so egt/boost it is.

They are $100, but very cheap and nasty finish.. comes in all colours as long as its black.

Got one at home you can look at when you pick up radio.

Failing that, buy a dashpod, put your radios in it, then the gauges in that.. thats how im doing it - i bought this as you see it with volt gauges off ebay, then use the pillar pod for the boost, egt...

Cheers bogged, but where did you get the pod from? Ebay or actual retail.

FYI my mechanic is dead against touching the boost/fuel, reckoning it might be more hassle than benefit. At the moment the ole girl runs cool and is good on fuel.

I bought some traded in pods from Department of the Interior P/L in NSW some time ago that suited a GQ and and adapted one to suit my UHF.

Like Bogged said, there may be a few companies around that make them but you can try this one...

Not sure of the quality but have been quoted $99 from Autron. What is the 3 gauge pod worth.

If there is enough interest maybe we could try and do a bulk buy.

Anyone interested.

$99 from autoron, the suppliers, or $99 from a 3rd party, Autron could do better price than that I would think!

I have the same as the 3 gauge pod shown here
Image

The problem is fitting the top gauge, the space between pod and pillar is very shallow and wont fit a boost or EGT gauge.

The angle on the 3 gauge isnt bad nice at night and day, but I think with the 3rd gauge in it, it maybe hard to see the middle one clearly, not far from the Handle as you can see in the photo and the angle of the photo makes it look better than it is..

I'll get a photo of it tonight of mine, its unpainted still though :( I have the EGT and Boost in the bottom 2,but have a hole in the top one that aint being used, looks poo.

Im only going to run 2 - the EGT and Boost, and that 2 gauge one looks good. Just worried about the angle on it to view the gauges  . I like the look of it too very clean...

Difference in fitting - the 3 pod one replaces the std trim, the autoron one appears to go OVER the std, so not sure how that will fit and look, it would have to be thin, which aint good, the 3 pod one is pretty flimsy but it doesnt have to be 12inch RHS.

I'm in for the 2 gauge one if your going a bulk buy.

is http://www.4x4store.com.au/ anyone from here? They could do a lot of business with bulk buys and stuff if they are interested - or anyone else.

The price was direct from Autron. Was a little surprised they were not more competitively priced to try and capture the small market share.

I enquired about purchasing 5 units, this is the reply I received from Autron.

"Unforunatlly we do not offer any quantity discounts to retail enquires."

Looks as though they have enough business.

So did anyone get one of these Autron pillar pods?? I'm after one, but don't want any tacky plastic stuff.

Have any other options appeared in the last 3-4 years? The Autron units not having enough depth worries me a bit.

At the engine end? Between the boost signal line pickup and wastegate actuator, or between the boost controller and wastegate actuator if you have a boost controller fitted.

Have the Autron two pod unit in the 4.2, I am running with Autometer Pyro and Boost guages, tight but quite doable with a 90 degree elbow for the boost guage connection.
Seems fine, just haven't got round to painting it yet..........

Image

The back of the guages showing the elbow for the boost line.....

Plumb it in here, the boost takeoff line is inside the black conduit....

I was going to plumb my boost gauge into the exact same spot but decided on plumbing it into the turbo between the boost signal line pickup and wastegate actuator, im in the process of fitting my gauges ive heard that its a pain in the arse to find the correct wires to connect up the gauges, also where abouts did u get the 90degree elbow from for the boost gauge was looking around but couldnt get one

G'day Burdy, I found the wiring not bad, the guages came with a simple wiring diagram, and the boost guage you cant get wrong as it is a mechanical actuated guage with only a +ve and -ve wire, doesnt matter which way they are wired as its only for the illumination light.

The Pyro just needs the extra thermocouple wires wired up to the probe, don't cut the excess wire you will have left over though!!! ;) Its callibrated to that length.

For the fittings for the boost guage, I just went to Pirtek who had heaps. You could try also Enzed, they'll have some as well.
Had to use the elbow otherwise the guage would sit too proud in the pod.

cheers,
Mitch
