What is the weak link on a GU's Standard headlights?

Post by Buckshot »

Is it the wiring loom?Is it the bulbs? Why are they so dim?
After putting the 240xgt's on I can barely see the standard lights when I dip the high beams.
Cheers

All of the above.

Upgraded loom makes a big difference, upgraded bulbs for the price don't hurt.

The main thing is, adjust them correctly. Google for the correct procedure but aiming headlights properly really make the difference.

Start with aiming = free.
If not happy, buy some upgraded globes (Bosch sell a 60/55 +60% H4) = small $$$.
If still not happy, upgrade the loom = medium $$$ if DIY or bigger $$$ if retail.

I've done all of them and are very happy with the result. I did them all at once and used 130/90 Bosch globes.

.......Have a new patrol ute , and lights are pathetic, at idle , lights are very dim, put a few revs up and lights get brighter, you would think that a almost 50 k vehicle would have better standards, no air bags, shite stereo, :bad-words: :bad-words:
