GU radiator problems.

Post by RN »

My mate has two GU's.

First one is a Series 2 4.5 petrol turbo with 205,000 k, the second a series 1, 4.5 petrol/gas with 245,000k's.

Both vehicles have had radiator failures where a split have occured in the header tanks.

Is this a common problem with this model?

His previous GQ's did not suffer from this problem.

Yes, he described them as being a crimped over header tank. Metal headers would have been brazed on I think.

RN,

This is common to just about all radiators with plastic tanks. As they get older the tanks get brittle & split.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.
Well they are all following you...
No they ain't, I'm just in front...............
