HJ61 Rear Sway Bar

Post by vSAHARAx »

G'day fellas

The rear sway bar on me 89 Sahara Is starting to really annoy me, (putting it nicely) evertime i go wheelin i break the right hand side cradle bracket thing that holds the sway bar to the axle housing. This is the 4th one ive broken since January.

What can i do to stop this? Am i able to remove the sway bar? i notice on the pov pack 60's, 61's they dont have a rear sway bar at all. Is it illegal to take it off?

Any comments or thoughts appriciated

Cheers Troy

I think DOT would ping you if they knew it had one to start with, but as you say, they dont all have them, and its never had one since you owned it!

My HJ60 didn't come with a rear sway bar I don't think any HJ60 and probably the FJ60 came with them. Just take it off.

Or just ame up some disconnectors, will also give you more articulation off road, and preserve handling on road...

Being a Sahara luxo-barge.. it would have one fitted for smoother ride.
Cheers,
Dan.

ill just take it off. im sick of constantly being ripped off by the wreckers for a dirty little bracket that continually breaks, i dont thrash it on-road so i dont really care about body roll.
