Hi,

I've got an 85 sierra SWB and was wondering about what size tyres i could fit on it?

I've already fitted 2" longer Shackles, which gave about 1" lift.

Also, if i were to buy lifted springs (2" springs , total of 3" lift?) what other stuff would i need to buy? i.e longer shockies, longer brake lines etc.

if i did get the lifted springs rougly what size tyre would fit then?

Thank you

up to about a 29 inch tyre. with springs up too 31" you will need longer shocks try searching these this has been covered many times

I had a 1 and a half inch lift and was running 30's(have sence gone to 3") and they just used to rub in the rear wheel arch so 29's should be fine. I'm going back down to 29's because with the 30's there was no low range. So stay at 29's untill you can get some rock hoppers. Thats what i'm doing.

As you will learn, either by research via the bible (link at top of page, well worth reading) or by experience. Once you increase your wheel diameter anything over 30", you need to start looking at reduction gears (search rockhopper or Calmini in the bible) otherwise you will wear out clutches quick and lack the ability to tackle tougher obstacles slowly.

you can fit the biggest rubber you can afford just depends on how much chopping you want to do :D ... have a look at virtul lifts
