Feroza Gearbox Oil change

Post by FROZY »

I am doing a service on the old girl and want to change the oil in the gear box and transfer case. The service manual is a little hard to navigate and i am finding it hard to find the specs on the correct grade oil to use and also where the drain plugs and filler plugs are on both the gearbox and transfer case.

Any help on this would be much apreciated.

A standard 75-90w Gear oil should be fine to use for both.

manual states 80-90w should be used. very common weight. you can adjust this slightly as needed for your local weather conditions.

drain on the transfer case is on the lowest position, size 14 or 16 mm, i cant remember. been so long! filler plug is almost directly above it towards the top. hard to miss. gear box, i cant remember. but make sure you find out for sure because there is a bolt that has often been mistaken for the filler plug and it undoes the 5th gear. so that bolt is a major no no.
