anyone running an injected 5.7 l in a 92 lux
i was wondering if any one has put one in there lux i did a search or two did`nt find anything though any help much apreciated. or what would be the best injected holden to put in .thanks
Big thanks to Northern Suburbs Radiators and Melbourne Drive Shafts and Balancing for all your help and support.
I got close... the 5.7L commodore engine is sitting on a stand not 1 metre from the lux.
Now the engine is for sale.
I thought this was the best engine for the lux because it is physically smaller than the bulky OHC lexus motor (every mm counts in lux engine bay), has more grunt everywhere and is lighter. Price for parts are cheap too.
The hardest part of the conversion that I can see is getting a tuff gearbox behind the motor- a worked t700 would be the best bet but they are pretty $$$. For my truck I bought an 80 series landcruiser auto which is built like a tank but requires tunnel mods.
It can't be done legally in Qld but NSW is cool don't know about rest of Oz.
Someone is going to put one in a 4x4 lux one day and then everyone will want one. Quite a few have gone into 2x4 luxs already. If my engine doesn't sell I might do it one day in future when some more $$ come my way.
