no i haven't noticed, most tanks have internal baffles to prevent this and also for strength.

That is as good a place as any to ask this...

I have just bought a 2004 hilux with a long ranger tank in it. I am assuming the tank is between 120-140L. The problem is today i was driving around with the red fuel light illuminated (nearly empty) so went to fill up. So i filled it max, the first time i have done so since owning the car. Chockas she only took 93 litres. So I'm assuming the calibration of the tank and sender etc is UTS and when im showing very empty im actually running around with 40-50L up my belt. Anyone else had similar problems and got a solution other than just learning how far you can go after the light comes up ?

I have a 90L long ranger in the middy. The baffles were cut out but a previous owner so the fuel does slosh around a bit.

I find that because of the surface area of the tank, I have 15L + in the tank when it has read empty for a while (no fuel light) so with a 115L tank there could be even more
