Nissan rear coils measured length

Post by Neetas »

Hi guys
I have a 3.0 TD GU which is about 12 mths old. I recently replaced the suspension - the rear coils had sagged. I don't tow anything heavy, or regularly, or load anything in the back, apart from when 4wding, but it's not what I'd consider overloading, just the usual tent, stove, recovery gear etc.

If I can be stuffed, when I eventually sell this rig, I might refit the OE stuff and sell the rest for some pocket money. Does anyone know what the measured length of the rear coils are, measured on a work bench ie not underneath the car? I want to see if I can get these replaced under warranty, so need some facts.
Anyone had the same problem?

Thanks
Mike

you will not get warranty on a part that is not in the vehicle as the dealerships have got a set of measurements for the car as a whole. And as such they will not do warranty on your say so.
I have been involved with new car warranty claims in the service department of franchise dealership & know this for a fact
Just for one other point they make the suspension on all vehilces for confort & not off road use. Their answer to this is 90% of our cars will never go off road so we do 100% of our suspension for them. The other 10% can go to an aftermarket supplier to beef it up. This fact was told to me by 2 different new car franchise warranty officers at different times .
