I heard that the steering shaft of a manual steering box is 2" longer is that correct? As I have one laying around & my mate could in his truck for the body lift as he has power steering.

some are longer but not sure how much longer.
I used a longer shaft and got dobbin to respline it to lenght to suit box mounting forward and cab lift.

Don't know about manual to automatic; but the non power steering shaft is longer than the power steering one.
