100 series Questions.

Post by FinnBear »

Hi All.
I'm totally new here, with a few questions.
I'm thinking of buying a 2004 100 series Landcruser with a 4.7 L & the 5 spd auto.
For some unknown reason they are going for a song these days!
I do most of my driving on citi link ( about 35k a year ) carrying about 200kg, with very little towing & maybe 1 day a month with very lite 4 wheel driving.

The following are my intentions.

A good qaulity gas conversion ( with Johnny's 2k, plus what ever )
Extractors & free flowing exhaust.
Snorkel with a modified air intake.
And some sort of performance chip with a dyno tune.

I'm not to worried about running out of gas.
But I currently drive a BA XR8 Ute & luv it, which will be on the market soon to pay for the above.

What are your thoughts on the above set up.
Will the gas system give me problems?
Does anyone run a 4.7 L on duel fuel?
'' '' '' '' '' '' with extractors?

I basically want a large 4WD that has plenty of go & then later on I'll do the 2" lift & all the other stuff.

Cheers

thereason for them going socheap is that they chew tha fuel bad.expect about 300-350 ks out of a tank of gas(90lts)useable and 400-450ks to a tank petrol.(90lts). around 20-22lts per 100 ks .be careful as snorkles can play havoc with lpg systems as they force air into engine harder and you could have problems with it stalling all the time you need to have a balance pipe put into the gas line to try and sort it out. and it deosnt always work either. other than that they are a really good unit mines now done over 210000 and still goes heeeaaaps better than my 80 series especially uphills on the freeway.cheers wayne
