Post by Sean »

G'day

im planning the mods that im may be getting in the near future. Just got a few questions.

1.What brand/model UHF should i get?
2.What brand/model spotties should i get?
3.What brand/model locker should i get? (preferably not air lockers)
4.Where would be the best place to purchase these?

cheers,
Sean

1. Uniden
2. Lightforce
3. ARB
4. A specialist 4x4 shop

Now you just need to ring around for pricing.

1.anything 5 watt. you can get them at dick smith, tandy or any good 4wd shop.
2.Nightstalkers are cheap, but effective. you can get them at Supercheap.
3. man up and weld up your diffs, they are the cheapest lockers out and as a bonus you can cancel you gym membership cause you'll grow poppie arms. you can get welding rods at bunnings.
it all depends on your budget......

1. handheld 2watt around $150, from tandy, electrical stores etc.
2. Nite stalker spotties around 140 / pair. good bang for their buck
3. lockrite auto locker from overseas (US)cost around $AUS400 (ABT sell them pretty cheap!) + 100 for install.
$800 all up.

Locker from Roadless gear. $300 to the door

http://www.roadlessgear.com/page/RGL/PROD/D/LR100

Depending on the mechanic...$80 to fit. At least mine did.

I also have the Lightforce 170 Strikers. They are pretty good, but if you can fit them go for the 240 Blitz. You'll see the difference.

They look exactly the same as the ones Richmond make, except without the crossshafts
