MQ gear ratio

Post by JelmerMQ »

I bought a rear axle with a ARB locker of a '86 Patrol MQ SWB diesel. Can I just fit this axle to my '84 Patrol MQ SWB L28 gasoline? What are the gear ratio's of these MQ's?
Patrol 2.8 '84, twin carburators, Z-car header, 280ZX cam, SPOA, ARB lockers f+r, Ramsey winch, 33" Maxxis Mudders and some rust....

easiest way to tell is to count the turns of the tailshaft to the turns of the wheel. If its a N/A diesel it may be fine.

Cheers and goodluck

Be aware the Euro Patrols were geared differently than the Aussie ones. Same ratios available but different from Aussie specs. At least that is what I have gathered....
