2000 Triton 100thou service

Post by lowndsie »

I just picked up my Trtion V6 3.0 and so far Im very impressed with it. Coming from previously driving a Daihatsu Feroza I'm having a ball with all the extra space and power. :)

I've got it booked in next week to get the timing belt done as it's just gone over 101,000. Im just wondering if there's anything else I should get them to change whilst they are under there? any gaskets or seals that could be changed now before they start leaking? Im planning on doing all the simplier stuff myself like changing oils and plugs, but is there anything else that I should be paying attention too??

Most people have a good look at the water pump while they're in there, and I'd recommend rocker cover gaskets - mine were baked solid over the exhaust ports, and started leaking at about 140k km.

Cheers,

Scott
