G'day, im Dave, a new forum member, new to Suzuki and new to 4X4ing
Was after a cheap Sierra for beach/light 4X4ing (for now ) but got real lucky and scored a black '90 Vitara, JLX Soft top for a mere $1700!
Basically alittle fun toy that won't cost me heaps like some of my other hoobies
I've scored a free 2nd Sony CD player and Kenwood 4" 2-ways, i've got an amp that i've had for ages that is small enough to hide between the interior plastic and outer panel And picked up today probly the most suitable 6X9s i've ever seen for the rear of a soft top! (ex demo, cheap!)

May I ask my first piece of my advice plese? LOL
Could you guys give me some ideas of how you may have mounted your 6X9s or some pics maybe? Any help appreciated!!!
Cheers Dave

Hi all : ) & 6X9's into Vitara
original stuff is cardboard anyway. wood or ply is too heavy.Dave Hazard wrote:Nice install! Interior looks the business! Hehe, I was thinking i'd have to find a material bit better than the stock plastic! Man the stuff is flexi! I was thinking marine ply or mdf. Cheers for the pics, looks tough man! Will post some pics tomorrow.
if you dont get aluminium, either just flat sheet, or chequer plate, the look into getting acrylic plastics. 2-4mm is enough, and you can get any colour you want.
or if you want to be super cool, get the tinited or smoked plastics, and fit some coloured lights or neons inside the back and the doors, so during the day, they are dark, and at night, you can turn the lights on and it will come through the plastics. super cool, wont be bright, but will have a nice glow in the dark style.

Yeah good idea, i do a bit of work with perspex from time to time, but i wana keep it pretty low-key, being a soft top and all.
Plenty of options with perspex now that i think of it!
Just want a decent sound, not so much doof-doof factor lol So i might look at going for perspex replacement of factory plastics in grey or strech some fabric over the panels...?
Thanks for the ideas man appreciate it!
