Hey guys,

Just got a roll bar for my flatbed single-cab hilux.
I am looking at making a canopy with the roll-bar integrated
into it as the front section.
I want to be able to sleep in mine if needs be, and thats about it.
Should I just get another matching rollbar for the rear?
Has anyone got pics of this type of setup for ideas??

So I am thinking of taking about 50mm off the sides (width wise)
and about 60-70mm off the back too.

I got these pics off www.twistedaxle.com "Camo's Toy"...
anyone got any other similar ones?

Cheers,
Bart

And what is the best thing to cut an alloy tray with?
An angle grinder or what?

Cheers,
Bart

from what i belive and have done: Grinderscan cut alloy, but ive been told they dont like it as the grinding wheels clog up.

other than that i am unsure.

Cheers Ozy,

I just spoke to him,
My mate reckons use a circular saw with a fine blade in it works
a treat. He just cut down his tray about a week ago.

Anyone else tried this? I do not want to FARK my tray up!

Cheers,
Bart

Have not used it on a tray but most fine blades for the cirular saw can also cut aluminium or non ferous metals and have cut aluminium with out problem you just have to be carefull as it can grab easier than normal.

It will cut it OK just take it easy, I had to laugh when i seen this post years ago we were away shooting and the old bloke that owned the property we were on had to cut about a foot of an old aluminium truck tray he had , but all he had to do it with was a chainsaw! it was quite a site, the homelite got a workout that day.

you can buy aluminium cutting wheels to fit grinders. The guy at the local aluminium welding place uses them all the time. They look more like a small circular saw blade than a normal metal grinding or cutting disc. Try your local industrial supplier.
