hi all
i have snapped a tooth off my gearbox (a G52 in a hilux) i am in the middle of getting it roadworthy and as such need to drive it about 50 ks each way to get it signed off. i know that the gearbox is stuffed and needs to be replaced but i only have 7 days to get the roadie signed.would the gearbox b ok to hold up to a 100 km drive? then it would need to do another 100ks at some stage as it is being replaced
will i be able to do this or is there a good chance i will end up on the side of the road.
cheers
rob

DROP THE OIL

And hopefully get the tooth that fell off out of there cause if its floating around in there it will do more damage like this :bad-words: :

Image This little tooth got chipped.... and then went on a magical mystery tour, floating about in the transfer case wreaking havoc on the other gears :bad-words: :bad-words:

put it on a trailer, and tow it there, you wont have any problems missing your appointment for the sake of some bux...

the engineer isnt going to want to drive it is he? cause chances are he wont touch it

Had a series 3 landrover with a holden conversion. Gave it a bit one day in second gear and snap snap snap. Just skipped using second gear and got home and dropped the oil and ended up with 3 teeth coming out. Just used to go from first to third and not use second. Drove it like that for 4 years till i sold it on.
