yep seen a cheap strap cave in the tailgate of a 100series and that was the srap hitting the tailgate with no shackle cost $4000 cause he bought a cheap strap
personnel experience with the shovels dug a channel for 1 trye about 2min worth of digging in sand and it was bent , had to use the hands , mate I sell the things and I don't touch them. would have been better spending 15 bucks on a small rabbit shovel instead
dirtyGQ wrote:After my very expensive recovery (smashed two cars) i will only use just straps gold .... why risk lives and $$$$$$$ with cheap shyt
how did you smash two cars?????
the shovels are rubbish get a non foldable shovel. go a diferent kit the straps didn't rate to well , for $99 you can get a juststraps or tjm ox kit
first hand i can tell you that style of shovel isnt bad
i wouldnt use it all the time
but for a situation where you dont have anything else?
i got stuck and a friend came to get me and he got stuck , to cut a long story short a guy came and towed him out but broke the snatch strap , destroying the rear doors on a gu and an 80' series cruiser over $1500 all up

if im going offroad, its uaully going to be with mums bf
and he has an expensive one $$$
I think i have a few just straps at work, old stock but brand new going cheap I'll check tomorrow and get back to you. Pretty sure there just straps as well.
I already have a few so dont need anymore.
Its just not worth the danger with cheap straps, Its to hard once your dead to change your mind.
I saw them in the catalogue last night. Doesn't look like a bad deal for a new 4b'er... But if you've already got a strap and shackles (pretty much all of us would already) is there much point buying it? The shovels are shit (Bunnings has great long handle ones) and gloves can be bought anywhere. I'd be spending a bit more and making one up myself. Strap $60-$100, gloves $10, shackles $25, shovel $10, and even a chain for about $30.thats less than $150 and you'll probably be safer with it...
I don't know about Phil, but if I had 15 guys following me around all day, I reckon I'd fell like a cigarette!
