Throw out bearing?? Sounds like the throw out bearing has crapped itself.

yep throwout bearing.

remove the little inspection plate on the bellhousing and try to squirt some engineers lube or something onto it to buy yourself some time. otherwise pull the box and replace

Agreed, Thrust bearing or throw out.. same thing.

I've drilled and tapped a hole into my bell housing to lube the bearing and G/box snout. Just screw a big plug in it when done

the 'screaming' is usually the siezed bearing wearing into the fingers of your clutch diaphragm.. might be best to change your clutch while you have the gearbox out..

I recently replaced my clutch (4terrain in a HJ75), along with the thrust bearing. Now i get a chirp/squeak when i put a tiny bit of pressure on the pedal, and even sometimes when there's no pressure. There is no noise when i put a decent amount of pressure on the clutch.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
I'm hoping it's just that the thrust bearing hasn't freed up completely and is rubbing a little on the fingers rather than spinning freely- no other ideas...

I did it about 6k ago when the new motor went in. This time i couldn't get it out easily so didn't bother. Didn't make any noise before.

My 78 series troopy did that within 5K from new, and it went on for about 50,000km and then went away.
I changed my clutch about 1 month ago ( only 75,000km ), and the new thrust bearing squeaks constantly, going away with the slightest pressure on the pedal.
The noise shits me but It's obviously doing no harm.

Thanks. Sounds like we've just got to wait for the bearing to loosen up....but 50000 km is going to take me years!
