Removing turbo from hilux
Having done the rings and bearings on the hilux and wanting to rego it sooner rather than later I have removed the bodgey turbo and decided against fitting the new turbo until after it is registered.
I need to know the factory fuelling setting on the injector pump and which screw it is.
I also need to know if I can simply plug where the oil feed line comes off the block. The current fitting looks exactly like the one that feeds through the alternator. If I plug this with a bolt will it create some kind of back-pressure and is there a specific fitting instead of a bolt?
I will post a pic in 30 mins or so.

So atm I am after a 1/8" thread or an oil pressure switch(which I would use later).
Thanks for the replies guys.
Now where is the fuel adjustment and how many turns from zero??
I know I cold find it and tinker till there is minimal smoke but it is hard to sort out while the vehicle is unregistered and illegal on the road.

Cheers mate, I know I can do similar. I am trying to stay away from the mechanics, I have one who I trust but I am just trying to save $$$ atm. It cost me $507 in parts to do the rings and bearings, the mechanics want around and above $1500.wrksux wrote:you can get a permit in vic atleast its 28 or so dollars to drive "to and from a work shop and to evaluate work done on said vehicle" where you are might have something similar
I know the information is available here and am hoping to utilise it, hell without the forums I wouldn't have dreamt of doing the other job
