RWC IN SE Melb.

Post by Mud_Muncher »

Ok Getting a modified Jimny (6inch spring lift, 3inch body and 32s) down from NSW. It has an engineering certificate (australian wide) for all, but only 31 inch tyres not 32s. The steering wheel is off centre in which I mean it does not sit perfactly straight when the car is going straight.

My question is will I struggle to get a roadworthy with slighty wrong size tyres? If so are there any RWC inspectors in SE Melb who a little less "concerned" with such issues. I don't won't a dodgy roadworthy but need to go to someone who understands that this wasn't designed to handle like a sports car. Email or Pm if you like.

Would the best option be to switch over to 30s or 31s???

Thanks

Hve you checked the engineers name against the (now revised) list of Victorian engineers, or did you just take the sellers word for it? If the engineers name isn't on the Victorian list of approved engineers then it won't get past roadworthy, it will be a trip to Vicroads for a full inspection.

delux service center in st kilda is pretty good if he knows your keeping it for yourself. he gave me a rwc with 31" tyres shaved diffs 2 inch lift and the steering wheel was like yours. no certification or anything.
