Extreme nite run

Post by cityview »

Dont get ahead of yourself STIKA.

The City-View trial was Posted quite a few weeks ago on a weekend so as not to clash with any other events. As I havent been involved with the Logan club for a number of years now I was not aware of your date change. Logan club nite runs were always held on the first Sat of each month. Remember I actually hosted a few on my other property before it sold. I did not intentionally do this to stuff up your event , however there was no mention of the extreme nite run either in this forum or on the calandar. I cannot change my dates as the major sponsor 4wd TV is locked in with Bris 31 for Tv dates for coverage and my other sponsors have all made themselves available for that weekend. Next year we will have a four round series and WONT be using this date , however our event is over two days and aimed at Mum Dad and the shopping car as well as the Weekend Worriors. People can come for the day and watch , Sat or Sun , then attent the Logan club event in the evening. (only 20mins away) Lets not go down the road and make this clash a S#@t fight but rather live with it and work together next time to avoid a repeat.

If the Logan Club nite run organisers have any suggestions or comments please PM me rather than air them on this public forum. I am quite easy going and have a few suggestions that may work for both of us.

Regards

Dates clash and it is just one of those things that happens...it just means people have to decide what they want to do...

Everybody knows that November is a busy time for events and obviously the biggest one in Qld is Mud bulls, along with other events like the extreme night run, woodpecker down south, QLD winch challenge etc etc and as you pointed out the Cityview comp is not really targeted at the sort of rigs that would attend the night run anyway, so hopefully it will not affect either your comp or our night run in numbers and all will be good

cheers

Pete looks to me like your the one making a shit fight out of this!

Not that this site is the one and only place to find info on events or that there is any reason you need to take not. But this date has been listed in the 2006 Event Dates thread above for Quite some time now- http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopic.php?t=57476 It had just not had any info added to it.

Also before it gets out of hand. The Logan Club did not/does not have a problem with you running this event on the same date. It has never even come up in discussion during meetings. But i guess we will now be discussing it tonight.

peter thats VERY different from what you were saying on the weekend!

Now back on topic.

Its getting a little closer now. There is a few things to be finalised at the committie meeting tonight, then its just a small wait to the run.

I'm keen as for this one, I've never drivin on an extreme run so this will be my first as a driver. YAY

Firstly please re read my post and try to see this from my perspective.

I am not trying to start a shit fight , but merely stop it before it starts. When the poster of a thread about their comp makes a comment refering to my event and states that their comp date is set in stone and has been for years so everyone should have known , then that is directed at me the organiser. What else is the use of making that statement. As stated your compeditors and mine dont nessecarily clash so it doesnt concern them. Only one or two will have to choose between events so whats the point in posting that comment.

Secondly , WICKED , please let me know what is so different to what I said on the weekend as I am confused by your comment. I refer to spectators at my event by the red highlighted section of your reply , not compeditors. Spectators can come during the day and watch our stuff on Sat or on Sun and go compete or watch the Logan Night Run on Sat night. Its that simple. It was written as a solution to the problem , to clarify to those reading the thread so they can have the best of both worlds.

Thirdly (and I wish I could cut and paste) but Tony , I just clicked on your tag and the Logan Night Run was highlighted in reddish-orange so I presume that it has been added since I visited the calandar last , along with a few other dates also in reddish-orange. I went to the calandar I saw Mud Bulls and Music on the 4th 5th and the QLD winch challenge on the 18th 19th. The weekend between had only two NSW events so I chose that date. As I said to Wicked on the weekend when he nicely invited me to the Logan club night run , "I thought logan night runs were on the first Sat of each month." He explained that it was moved to avoid Mud Bulls. (I bet this line of conversation was never directed at Albin when he picked the Logan Club date for his event.) I also stated that I couldnt change my dates due to TV coverage , but didnt think I needed to add that if I could I would have. I am sorry this has eventuated , but it truely is not my doing so to try to avoid the inevitable I made the statement. The next post after mine truely sums up the situation as I see it , but for some my request for keeping the unnessecary comments to a private arena fell on deaf ears. I really dont know what the problem is but have been told that some of you out there are unhappy that I have been able to set up the park and will cheer to see me fail. Just remember I did this because I love 4wding , I like to watch others playing on things I choose not to drive , and found a way of making a somewhat small way of living doing what I enjoy. Remember why City-View is here , to provide Brisbane wheelers a close place to play not to endure this. I know this is lengthy , but maybe by spilling my mind you may all get the point.

To those of you who have been to the park and enjoyed yourselves , none of this is directed at you and I thank you , both Logan club members and all the others.

Pete,

Bretts reply was not having a go at you or your event. It was just stating a simple fact. He wasnt saying you should have known better. As i said the Logan Club has no problem with your event or your Park.

If you beleive this to be different then thats your problem. There is nothing we can do to change this.

You seam to think so many people are against you. I dont beleive this to be true. But maybe this is why you read more into replies regarding your Park.

As for starting or not starting shit. If you had firstly taken this up with Brett privatly we would not be having this discussion on a public forum and no-one else would have read anymore into Bretts reply.

Again to make it clear. The Logan Club has no problem with this date clash or You or Your Park.

Sorry just needed to also clear up your misunderstanding of this. The "Use of making that Statement" was to answer the statement by RV
The city view comp is on the same weekend as well...

I can clarify this for Ben. Yes Non Members are welcome at this Night Run.

Non Members are now allowed a total of 3 Night runs before they must become a member to continue attending these events.

I understand and accept your point Tony and agree. Maybe we all over react sometimes , including myself. Believe me when I say I would have enjoyed to watch the Extreme night run as I have in the past and would have picked another date for the City-View event if i had known of the clash in the first place.
I refered to comments made at the Free Logan Club Nite run held at City-View earlier this year , comments made by a minority of logan club attendees as well as comments made by another Logan club event organiser re City-View in this forum. It may not be your view but it seems that there has and maybe always will be a faction within the Logan club whos main aim is to be disssatisfied. This goes back to previous nite runs I hosted at Mundoolun where , at the last , a contingent came only to disobey the rules I asked all to follow and deliberatly upset the neighbours. Hence why I never held one again there. Some of the comments made after I left the Logan Club a few years back got back to me through friends and some collegues. It seems to me that some one had a missunderstanding of me or a grudge or something and until now I havent said I was aware of what had happened , but I was and chose to ignore it. Some of the parties concerned are no longer with your club however some still are. You may or may not be aware of the comments or situations but if you wish to know I will discuss it with you via PM. This time maybe as an over reaction I jumped in and wanted to stop it before it started. If I was premature I appologise. I made offers to the extreme nite run organisers in my first statement which still stand. Any one is welcome to PM me to discuss them.

actually the red orange colour just means that it is a link to an active thread on Outers or to a website...try clicking on it and you wil see that..it would only have been made red once this thread was started.....

anyway, on topic...so who is going
