Ive always been a toyota man , i have a 60 series and a 80 series toyota ,but ive lined up to buy a 89 GQ in very tidy condition with a turbo 700 and fuel injected 5 litre arb bullbar 12000 pound winch body and spring lift 33 inch tyres cd dvd uhf engineered registered bla bla bla . Its 10,000.00 am i paying to much or does it sound about right for all the work and bits and pieces.

I think you will own a vehicle with mods that most GQ owners would want . If it is a good rig, not knocked around I say buy it and enjoy.

its becoming an old car an 89 model... the word V8 scares a lot of buyers so prices are coming down. IMHO its too much, but as said if your happy...

Further..the engine and transmission on old vehicles are a concern, so a 89 model is fairly ancient compared to the last of the series in 97..however as you have replaced the most expensive items with newer units (??) then it isn't an issue.

There isn't much difference in an 89 model as to the 97 so it boils down to the overall condition of the rest of the drivetrain.


The cost to purchase and replace with a V8 would probably be in the order of 5K so the overall price is reasonable. If the package is what you want then it is reasonable considering the hard work has been done by someone else..
