Any ideas on making some shock hoops ?

Post by CWBYUP »

Just sorting out how i'm going to mate some shock hoops for the front of my Zuk ?

Anyone got any ideas or photos ? I have seen somewhere a photo of some made out 40mm square tube with 1 side cut out of it ?

Anyones opinions would be appreciated.

Cheers Nick

Ha Ha, this reminds me of some we made for Brenno down here in Tas that were made from old chromed butchers rails bent in a hoop and cut to fit the chassis rail, welded on and Bob's your uncle. I'll see if Brenno has any pics!

Now thats what i need ! ! !

I was going to buy some from BBM but I would need to mod them any way to fit the zuk so I thought might as well start from scratch.

Thanks Mate

Best bet is to make them up out of tube, and then mount them on fish plates to weld to the chassis... prevents nasty things like tearing big holes in chassis where it has been weakened around the pipe by the weld... also make sure you use back bracing.

Check out bubs build up in the members section, he has pics of his :)

Mine are just superior engineering ones which I cut off another car, so I had to make my own braces and not use the ones superior supply.
