FJ 40 Stearing

Post by Short 45 »

Hello all.
Am in the proses of restoring my FJ40 ( converted into a 45 ) and have had a 2in body lift fitted .The question is , does any one have a solution for the stering shaft angel .
The car is @ the panel shop and am contemplating droping th body down to a 1in lift if i have enough clearence between the cab and rear tyres.
Would prefer to leave the 2in lift in.

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

fit 60 series steering setup fixes the angle of the dangle perfectly

i had 2" bodylift in mine before and i just ovaled the hole in the firewall to allow the shaft not to rub on anything

i also fitted a washer under the rear of the steering box to change its angle slightly
