hey fellas i was looking at some pajeros in norway and notice the soft top ones just wondering have they cut them themselfs or do some of the older pajeros come out from the factory like that
i am thinking of doining it to mine they look good :armsup:

Yea, heaps of there over here in NZ, all Used imports form japan.

I'd love to build up a 3.5 manual soft top for comp's.

The soft top pajeros (like mine) are like this from the factory. Mine i.e. has the code L042 instead of L040. If you plan to do it shortly i'll be glad to send you some close pic's. I think they 'll help you to do better job.

Seeing that they are a full chassis vehicle, as long as you have adequate rollover protection, getting it engineered it shouldn't cause too many headaches. The fact that they came from the factory with no roof will also help your cause. Just make sure you find an engineer that you are happy to deal with BEFORE you start cutting it up, a good engineer will be able to answer any questions that you have about the job, and if they don't know on the spot they should get back to you in a reasonble time frame with an answer from the department of transport's consulting engineers. The degree of difficulty will vary depending on what state you live in however as they are still running state by state rules at the moment (a little birdy told me recently that it will be changing to a national code sooner rather than later though, votes have been taken and won on the national code of practice).

yeh i love the j tops as well,

but it also sounds as if sx4wdc is talking abouyt the gen1s??? :?

i must admit i havent seen many soft topr shorty gen1s. theres heaps oif gen2s around, but yeh id love to do one as well, turn it into something like what dan, A1, has done with his vit. I rekon itd be great just for something different. Keep everything as paj as possible, except for the front diff,

one day it might come true.... :roll:

i wanna check it out. I love nittebergs truck, tough as, i keep seeing shorty gen 1s round begiing me to buy them and do an SAS and make them comp worthy...
