I am in the process of building a zook with my dad.We are almost to the point where I can finally start her up...(i will download pics soon)but my question is what kinda offroad power will my zook really have?now keep in mind we upgraded the motor to a 1600cc16v but I have been wondering what the low end on this truck will be?I know zooks are small and can go anywhere but can they do that with a stock transfer case?

i was wondering how your project was going.
what tyre size are you running? how aggressive is the tread?
i would think the 16v would be pretty good but you can never have too much gearing so look at doing transfer case and diff gears to suit your tyres

I would suggest you only need to get a rockhopper. (Standard gearing with 31's = bad idea)

I always thought he was in america because his steering wheel was on the wrong side when some photos were shown a little while back.

So if his user name was 'usi' it would have all been okay then?

yeah...i'm from the usa...but i'll tell you guys..i've been on some other suzuki sites and you all seem to be the ones who know your @#^&*!...anyways as of now i'm running regular tires with aggressive tread.long story short there tires that my dad bought for his zook and only put a few hundred miles on before he upgraded to 31's .which is what i'm going to do soon!question though...am i going to run into problems with 31"tires and a stock transfer case?my dad runs 31's and he hasn't had a problem yet?knock on wood.....

What do you mean by problems??
It definately struggles with standard gearing. Surely you could pick up a dirt cheap GRS1 or similar over there. With the new 6 to 1 gearing, people would be nearly giving away the taller geared transfer gears....

you won't have any problems as such. bj on roids use to run 42s on standard gearing and a hopped up motor.
you'll just find that you want deeper gears. but get some tcase gears and you'll find that you'll use less speed/momentum when tackling obstacles. you'll be able to crawl slowly and take the time to pick and stay on your lines.
