quick 80 series wiring question

Post by g35me »

Does anyone know what the following color wires do that go into the distributor on a 3FE

Light Green with white stripe NE (RPM's)
Light green with red stripe G1 (Crankshaft position)
light green with black stripe G- (??????)

the crappy Haynes manual doesnt even have them in it.

They come out of the Engine ECU but I cant work out what G- means?

Do you measure cranshaft position to adjust the timing?

Can you take NE and plug it into the tacho pin on the new distributor (remember it is a 350 chev) which will run it through the ECU to the tacho or do I have to run the tacho wire straight to the distributor and bypass the ECU?

marks adapters do a wiring harness for the efi models, I have put in a carbie chev V8. Should be MUCH easier but they dont sell any wiring for a carbie version.
