Speakers in Hilux doors?????

Post by Mattlux69 »

I have a '96 dual cab and need more speakers in the car most probably in the doors. Just asking if anyone could post pics of interior especially the doors where people have fitted speakers and if there are already holes behind trim to put them in.

sr5 or pov?
pov have the quarter glass which makes putting speakers in easy. I've got an mdf build out with grey vinyl fixed through to the door panel with 6x9 speakers easy as. Could be issues with sr5's that have a full window.

Just stick in the bottom front corner so its upways, mark out the oval on the trim and cut that out FIRST, then put the trim back on and mark out the oval on the steel behind the trim.

They aren't 6x9 we are putting in the rear of yours they are 6" splits..

If you can use a bit of MDF you will get a better sound than just mounting them to the door, although no matter what you do you are never really going to get nice sound from a door well nto as good as a parcel shelf fitment anyway.

ive got pioneer 6x9's in the front and 6" in the rear- your going to really struggle to fit a 6x9 into the rear doors, i had to hack a fair bit of steel away to get a 6" in there, and it only JUST clears the winder!

i've got photos of the 6x9's, but not of the 6"

I'm about to replace the Sony 6" that came with my truck with JL 6".

Need something a little louder and clearer to help drown out the diesel engine ;)
