par for the course for modifying cars.

In vic its anything over 15% of stock power output, a turbo is "seen" as roughly 33% increase

hey mullisha, go see chapmans at cooroy, they will be able to do a blue plate for you.
blue plate is a shit load cheaper than getting engineers certificate in vic or nsw.

yeah, itll cost about 75 from memory as a pretty average price around the place... they look for legal things like described before, not to loud, emitions (no concern to you if you are running straight gas) and that everything is proper not dodge.

exposed air filters are illegal aswell. just incase it came with one.

You do not need Engineers Approval. All you need to do is fit the turbo and take it somewhere that does mod plates. It will cost you between $55 and $100 depending who you see.

A screemer pipe is illegal and wont pass. But there is no reason you cant plumb the waste gate dump pipe back into the exhast anyway.

I find this hard to beleive as most Impco Carb style gas kits all run exposed Air Filters.

It comes with a 4" pod filter and screamer pipe that vents into atmopshere so yes a very nice illegal kit ...

Would a screamer pipe be illegal on a pre 88 model car becuase i don't need a cat ?

Thanks guys..

You could always ask for it to be plumbed back....

I don't know many people in Vic that have bothered with engineers reports for Blowers, Turbo's or hotted up engines, mainly only engine conversions.
Damn! 15% improvement requires a engineers! That I did not know! Most of my projects are making 100% - 200% more!!
So a LS1 commodore with extractors and exhaust, and HSV maf pipe needs an engineers?

why are people so scared of mod plates - they cost fark all are straight forward to get cost like $70 for the first $35 thereafter. they also help to maintain your cars legality. I have at least 9 i can think of on mine.

although mine is done correctly i am yet to see a mod plater look harder than a glance at the mod/s/s/s/

If Melbourne was like that, I'm sure more people would have them.

Vehicle pass strict laws to be roadworthy, they are manufactured within the guidelines and approved before sale. When the vehicle steps outside of the std and approved set-up it needs to be individually checked.

Hey Bru mate where do u get ur mod plate done becuase i wouldn't mind keeping the blow off valve and pod filter and screamer pipe but if i can't i can't really change that.

Thanks

Mod plates are required to enable you to pass a Roadworthy Certificate inspection (RWC). Thats the equivalent of a UK MOT.
