Vitara Duel Batteries

Post by rosie »

Gday all, I know there were others planning on doing this so i thought I'd throw it up!

For crissy I got a Amaron Hybrid Battery and a Red Arc Smart Solaniod for the Vitara so it now has a duel battery system. After all the complications, opinions, advice and pesamistic comments I've gone ahead and done it.

I got a sheet metal Bus Stop sign, and banged out a tray and rivited it to the wheel arch after relocating the overflow bottle. Banged in the cables and momentary switch and it all goes well. I've conected the override to the auxilary batter so it will always have power to close the solaniod.

The only hurdle is that I have a button which needs pushing when I go to the on position and if the battery is dead flat it doesnt have enough power to disarm. This prob will be fixed very soon or else I will just have to allow the alarm to go off for 1 second while I disarm it.

I have tested it with a dead flat battery and it starts fine which goes contrary to what other people had told me so as far as I can see I now have the perfect set-up for my needs.

Here's some pics for other Vitara Owners.
