vitara exhaust
vitara exhaust
hey there whats the best size to use for a vitara exhaust? i was thinking i may just put some extractors on it and cut the cat. converter out and replace that with a straight peice of pipe with a nut welded in it for the o2 sensor and then one high flow muffler would this be ok or should i go to a 2" pipe? the pipe thats on it at the moment is nearly 2" so is there any real nessitity to go to 2"? by the way its a 92 swb fuel injected 16valve cheers

Cant tell you exactly but i am going to run extractors (wildcat 114 ones) with 2" straight through system (1 turbo muffler). I am not going to run a cat converter for now but will look at getting a ex commodore one to be legal.
02 sensor goes into the extractors (mine have already got a not welded in there and punched through all ready for it.
Also dont know if you have it in yours but mine has a plug after the cat in the exhaust, not sure what it does, guessing a ego or similar.

oh ok nice i think i may thake out the cat and put the headers on it and take out the standard muffler and put a higher flow one in its place.....i wonder if its legal to after the muffler just run it pointed at the ground instead of having all those performace sucking bends over the diff and then out the back

go the whole system if u got the $$, worth it doing it right.
not sure about kiwi land but we have to have it after the rear most opening window. thou i have seen i could do a dump pipe after the diff.

On a budget, maybe grab a bigger dia muffler off a commo or similar for and do a 2" system with that, fitting it under there may be a worry but dpending on size and that.
Mines in a sierra and think they have a big more room underneath to play with.
Carefull on extractors as there is two different ones for the vit 16v mpfi. I got the wildcat 114 ones for 180. the difference is where the secondary and primarys come out and can hit the engine or belhousing.
