Does any one know if it is possible to remove the pully from a vn v8 power steering pump? If so is the allen headed bolt left or right hand thread?

AFAIK the pulley is pressed on, the allen key hole is so you can hold or turn the shaft.
You need a power steering pump puller/fitter. If you don't use one, you will almost definately root the pulley, either removing it or refitting it.

most places like bursons, repco and bearing supply joints sell a kit for p/s pully it slides over and hooks on the rib the screws in pressing the pully of then the kit should have a installed which screws into the thread on the shaft and press's it back on there not to expensive and handy to to have as they do alts and water pump pulleys for a range of different vehicles
