Aluminium Checker plate suppliers

Post by dawg runner »

Gday,

I am just wandering if any guys on here have purchased any checker plate aluminium for thier trucks from anywhere in Sydney.

I have called a few places and the prices vary abit from place to place.

I only need a small piece to fab a surround for my 3rd stick in the cab. (Dual transfers) i was probaly going to redo the standard gearstick surround in this too. the old console wont fit with extra stick.

If any of you guys know somewhere that is open on Saturday, that supplies this and are reasonably priced, or guys that may have some scrap lying around that they would not mind parting with for the cause would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

Dave

Go to any sheetmetal joint (take a 6pack ;) ) ask to grab a piece of scrap chequer. You might have to settle for propellor plate (which IMO looks way cooler  ).

Have you tried O'Brien Aluminium at Smithfield?

They used to have offcuts for sale in the sales department - may still have.

Bunnings sell Aluminium checker plate, not the cheapest but convenient if you only want small sections.
