Why would you ?

Post by NAV05 »

It's my first post here, so behave !

I was tinkering with the idea of upgrading from my D22 to a D40.

The D40 is a very nice truck but compared to the D22 has less towing capacity and it dosen't have a 1 ton payload.

WHY ????????

Bring out a fancy new Navara without the balls of its predecessor ? The D40 might have more grunt but tows less and won't take a 1 ton load ?????

Dont know where you got the lower towing capacity from.

The D40 is rated to 3000kg in all variants with brakes.

The D22 is rated at 3000kg for the DX Dual cab version but only 2800kgs in STR.

A friend of mine has both and I've been for a ride in both, and the D40 is heaps better in every way. More power, more room and rides better.

My boss actually did the test with the 4wd monthly guys and compaired it to the hilux & rodeo.

The D40 has a heap more power, and is rated at 3000kgs like Raptorthumper said.

The only problem is see with the D40 is the engine size, being smaller than the lux and rodeo it would be working harder and in my opinion may not last as long.

Only time will tell.

Doh

My bad on the towing

The UK spec Navara says it's only good for up to 2700kg max and payload is 1050kg :?
