1990 NG Paj LWB

Post by Sammyboy »

Hi All, you have probably read about my frequent gearbox problems with my NA shorty, but I wanted to say that I just bought a 1990 TD NG Pajero EXE 5sp man with a 4D56 engine that has died. The reason that I bought it was that it's body was in immaculate condition- no rust- perfect duco for its age and immaculte interior :D . The 4D56 has died and it cant be driven :D , so I plan on transferring my own 4D56 from my NA shorty (low km import engine fitted July 05) which is very reliable. I have a couple of questions to help make things easier for me so your advice will be much apprieciated: GLOW PLUGS: When I stat my NA Paj, I have to wait for the light to go green to start it. Is this the same in the 1990 NG Paj, or do I not have to wait for glow plugs? How will my engine affect this? Will it be ok? GEARBOX: As you may know I have had many misfortunes with my NA Pajero gearbox (I think that it is a KM145??). Does the NG have the same gearbox as this, or does it have the newer 5sp box (V5MTI I think??) that came in with the V6 in '88? SUSPENSION: I was really impressed with this Paj (especially body and interior), but fail to remember if I saw coils or leafs on the rear? Does anybody know which springs they have? This car will be getting some Old Man Emu suspension so I guess it doesn't matter too much. Thanks for your assisance, I apprieciate it.
Sam ;)
